Hey alright! :0D Lol, sorry Dave, couldn’t resist the chance of using your trademark greeting.
No the edges on this one weren’t to straight. The templates are the key to getting good results, and in my rush to test the router I rushed the template shown. It was actually cut with a jigsaw, so the router pin follows every little defect.
But I’m in the process of transferring all the PDF’s I’ve bought of your site onto hardboard – and I’m taking my time with these one’s, to do your designs justice

Unfortunately I Didn’t video the build, but I did take a few photo’s at various stages of the build – so I will try to put them together to make a build video.
Got a few other projects on the go at the moment, so will get onto this when I get chance

    Hi all,

Thanks for all the positive comments and personal messages asking for details of the foam cutter.
I’ve been really busy lately and haven’t had chance to create instructions for building this cutter yet – but stay tuned (or subscribe) and I promise to upload more details soon!

i bet if you get it to a higher voltage you might even be able to slice through metal

  9. kivancdogan Says:

This machine cuts the foam by heat but you can’t cut a metal with heat because metals melt in very high temperatures. At that temp. your wire may melt too. You should take a look at wire edm machines for cutting metal with wire.

further to my previous comment, whats your template mede of?

  12. v6133cl Says:

The templates are made from hardboard – shiny side down to reduce friction on the table top and rough side up to help hold the foam in place. Though I also put a few pins through to locate the foam onto.
