This is a great little catapult that uses torsion from twisted rope or string. It is more accurate to the types of catapults used in the middle ages because they didn’t have rubber bands back then but they did have rope. The rope can generate enormous force that is used to hurl a projectile. This type of catapult is more specifically called a Mangonel. Lots more catapult stuff on my website: www.stormthecastle.com and a web based tutorial with complete plans, instructions and pictures for this catapult is coming soon.

Hi! I was wondering as to how you made the throw arm stay in an up position.. cuz my partner and I tried wrapping the rope around the throw arm but the throw arm remains on the ground

how far did the marsh mallow went?

When you twist the string the arm will go up. If you already twisted the string then you went in the wrong direction with the twisting!
