Woodworking question: "table irons"?

Woodworking Plans Q and A's

I am an amateur woodworker, building a small table. The plans call for table irons which are shaped like figure 8s…or 2 flat washers welded together edge to edge. You screw down into the leg thru the table iron, then screw up through the other loop into the table top. Hardware stores give me a funny look when I inquire about these. Where can I find them and what are they properly called?

    They’re called figure eight clips. Here is a link to some I found online. Hope this helps.

    EDIT: Good job, Trash. I looked in Rockler but couldn’t find them.
